Adsense is an amazing concept. A form of contextual advertising, which really just means advertising in context- advertising directly targetted with the content on the webpage.
So, for example, your page is about Birman cats, you will sure as anything, get ads about cats, and likely some about Birman cats.
I find Adsense incredible, as do countless others. The reasons are, there is no customer support to bother with, because there are no products. Not only that but it is PASSIVE income. So, do the initial work and you will continue to be rewarded, months, even years later.
There are a few people making 10,000 a month plus with just Adsense. On the other hand, there are many many others lucky if they get a return of $100 a month. Lets make you closer to the former, shall we?!
MAKING THE MONEY
Ok, so you want to make money with Adsense? How do I do it, you ask? The simple answer is 'work'.Don't expect to put up a website, slap on a few pages of content that you found in the Article Directories, and start banking cheques. I wish it was that easy!
However, with all the 'do no work and make millions' types of programs out there, its easy to fall into this mindset. Hey, even yours truly did early on. I joined up with a program and it was called...well i actually forget now, but something like, make money, no work. Course why didn't I think, if it worked, wouldn't everybody be doing it? And the quick answer is, yes they would! It didn't pan out, and I eventually left, poorer and wiser. So sorry, but work is required. I don't want to mislead you, after all. Leave that to the people expousing their ebook or software will make you rich, easy peasy.
It takes time to build up a $20 a day new website, despite what the people trying to sell you a 150 Adsense website package would have you believe. Speaking of that. Beware of those packages. Often the people selling them have the links going to their own Adsense code! In other words, you drive traffic to this website you just put up, and all the clicks that people do on this website, all go to the product creator's. Ok, i'm getting sidetracted here, but it might help someone who buys one of these packages.
Here's how it works. You buy the package. It tells you to change the Adsesne code on the home page of the website. Which you do. Trouble is, when someone visits the page and clicks on one of the links to an internal page within the website...it goes to a page which still has the seller's Adsense code on it! So you as the buyer will make a little money if the visitor clicks on your ads on the main page, but if the visitor decides to go deeper and explore the websites internal pages and then clicks one of those ads....the income from that click goes to the seller. The solution seems obvious right? Change all the url links and all the Adsense code throughout the webiste. So, please be careful ok?
Ok, now on with making money with Adsense....It takes time for a website to generate a good income from Adsense. Primarily because it takes time for the website to establish itself on the internet.
Sure, if you have a website already that is 3 years old, which has 1000 visitors a day, you could be making $100 a day or more, right off the bat. But lets assume you are new to the online game.
Here's a good, reliable method to use, which works.
Put up a website on a topic you have chosen. Lets say toy trains for this example. Its also a topic you have good knowledge about already. You spend a week writing content for the website. You now have a 20-30 page site on 20-30 different topics on model trains.
Now you begin writing an article a day on various sub-categories within the toy train niche. Examples might be, 'How to Find Bargains on model Trains' and 'How to Take Care of Model Trains'. You get the idea.
Each day submit these articles to the main Article Directories. 20-30 of the best should be ample. Do a search for article directories with the search engine of choice.Do this for 90 days. Depending upon the cost per click of your ads your niche gets, its likely you will be making at least $30 a day from Adsense.
Doesn't sound like much? Well this is all now virtually passive income. The $30 a day should be fairly consistent, or whatever amount you reach after the 90 days. well into the future. If you keep writing even more articles, this will only increase. This is branding yourself as an expert, an authority on the subject.
Now lets break down some figures. $30 a day is $900 a month of passive income. Lets say the website took you 40 hours to put up, or content to write, and a webmaster built one for you. And two hours a day to write to write a 400-500 word article and submit. Thats 220 hours.
Seems alot huh? Over a year $900 per month is $10800, which works out at a tick under $50 an hour! How many people do you know make $50 an hour? Then your site will make money the next year. And the earnings from the fruits of your labor will only increase. $75 an hour. $100....
Can you see why Adsense is so popular? And so 'hot' right now? There are more books and other products for sale bout Adsense than you can shake a stick at. More than anything else in the past year. Its easy to lose sight that if you do the basics, the money will come. Not many people will apply this method, for instance (too much work involved), so it will set you apart from the one click and instant site people. Your site will stand the test of time.
This example I gave is very simple but very doable. The $30 a day is an approximate figure. Could be less or more. But pretty accurate. I'd expect you to make that if you follow this method to the letter.
So start today!
TIPS
Here are some tips to maximize you click through rates, which is VERY important when it comes to Adsense.
* Ensure that you take off the border around your ad.
*Make the color of your URLs in your ads blue or green. These I've discovered give the best click thru rates.
*Make sure your keywords are very specific and targetted.
*Position your ads to the upper left of your web pages. This being where the human eye falls on when it initially sees a page.
*The text of your ads, the link title and URL colors should match the corresponding colors on your page.
*Build your content pages AROUND the adsense ads. This way they look more natural.
*Remember to text frequently! And make one change only at a time. so its clear if the one change you have done helps or hurts your click thru rate.
