Google Adwords -

Pay Per Click

Google Adwords Pay Per Click. A truly amazing innovation. It eliminates wasted advertising, and lets you access a huge amount of people with a laser focused targeted market, exactly at the time when they are looking for what you are offering. And all in rapid quick time. You can set up a google adwords pay per click adword in a few minutes and it can be showing on Google within 15 minutes. And you pay what your able to pay, which results in an appropriate position on the list of ads. So for instance, the top ad would cost you $1.00 to get the number one position, but your budget doesn't allow for that? Your budget is say 50 cents a click maximum, so you put a bid in for that, and that gets you the number four position. So every time someone searches for your keyword or keywords, your ad shows up on that page in the number four position. CTR (click through rate) also can determine your position. Google rewards a successful ad, by giving it a higher position according to relevance. If your ad is well written and gets people to click on it, Google bumps you up a little because your ad has more relevance to searchers, than a poorly written ad that gets a low CTR.

A good tip: Bid as high as you can. You need to be where your ad can be seen. The higher ads get more clicks in general and therefore more sales. Think of it this way. Would you rather spend 10 cents a click and rarely get clicks and therefore no sales, or $1.00 a click and get lots of clicks and lots of sales? Obviously testing is required and keeping a track of your expenses and sales so that you know whether the campaign is profitable or not. If it isn't, pull the plug if tweaking doesn't help, and let your winning campaigns run and run.

Use a lot of keywords. Not just a few. Hundreds is better than dozens. The more specific you can be, the better you are likely to do. For example, using the keyword, 'dog' as opposed to the keyword say, 'german sheppard'. Not only is the keyword likely to be cheaper, it won't be as competitive. And less searches a month because its more targeted. Targeting is key. The less targeted, the more likely it is that the clickers won't buy from you. Also, don't cluster a whole bunch of keywords under just one ad. Match your ad to your keywords. So for instance, keyword-romance, love. Ad- 'Looking for Romance and Love? Love and Romance is waiting for You Here', to give a quick example. I know, its not the most brilliant ad ever;) Naturally, you would want more keywords than just those, but those two words would be your PRIMARY keywords. And include them in all phrases.

Also, write your ad to appeal to the searcher's self interest. They want to hear bout themselves and what you can do for them, not about you.

Quick Tip: Putting your keyword phrase in the title is usually more effective than not doing so.
