So, you want internet traffic and visitors to your site? Me too?!;) All kidding aside, internet traffic to your web site is vital. That is, TARGETED web site visitors. Like Pay Per Click, which is about as targeted as you can get. Why do you think its so expensive?
There are lots and lots of different ways to get internet traffic. A hundred and one probably. but only a few effective, actionable methods.
Here are what I feel are the best: Pay Per Click, which I have covered elsewhere in this site. Its hands down the champ in terms of targeted internet visitors. I use it alot. I use the following methods too, which are cheaper, but a little less targeted. Why use one stream to fill your tank, when there are many available? Heck, even if the no cost methods only give me one extra opt-in a day, thats an extra opt-in I wouldn't otherwise have.
So, here we go...
VIRAL MARKETING: Yes, its named after viruses, but in a good way;) Essentially, you send out a report or an ebook that you created for free, and it gets distributed from one person to another to another, and so on. Inside the report are your links. Its a really effective low or no cost way to get internet traffic. The trick is you must do what you can to get it passed from that one person to another and read too. No point in having links inserted that will never be clicked or even looked at.
Effective ways to force it to be passed around are: great content and let the person passing it on have the potential to make money from it with commisions from the links- so they make money from any purchases and you get the opt ins, for example. Also, make it easy to 'brand' the links to their own personal ID, and have ease of distribution.
To get forced readings, make the content great, and easy to read. Give the people content they need and desire for no cost, and your report/ebook will be successful!
JOINT VENTURES. (Discussed in the affiliate page). A very important mathod. A great way to gain JV's is to visit seminars. If you have the budget and are able to go, I urge you to go to as many as possible. It will pay you back many times over in the yars ahead.
DISTRIBUTE ARTICLES: Yes, this one though being used alot nowdays, is still effective. What you do is write a quality article on your niche and submit it to article directories. Do a search on article directories and you will see many listed. Then submit it to all the big directories. Include your 'resource box', which is your name, URL, copyright, email address.
Try and find gold nuggets on the topic, that aren't so well known, so as to seperate your from the pack of a million other articles on the same subject. After all, the point is to get your article read and the person to click through to your website. And also, use it to include on their own website.
SEO(Search Engine Optimization): This is quite a complex field. There are so many ways to help you get ranked higher. Here are a few of the most basic ways:
-Your keyword should be in the first paragraph of your page.
-Your domain should be losely related to your keyword. (you may have read that your main keyword should be in your domain name. Thing is, everybody is doing that. According to 'VEO', which is discussed elsewhere on this site, you should choose a name that is distantly associated with it).
-The title tag of your your pages should contain the keyword.
-Each page of your site should also have the file names as part of your keyword.
Use press releases: Press relleases can be very effective if done right. It needs to be well written, and not looking like just a sales page. Write it like its for something 'newsworthy', which could be picked up by other press release sites. You can submit for free, but paying for a well written release can generate a lot of web site traffic over a several week period.
