These stories can be within more than one email. If you use one story across several emails, you should have it be episodic. In other words, like with your favorite television show, at the end of the episode, you leave the viewer in suspense and wanting more. So when the next email arrives, they are excited to open and read it.

When you initially have contact with your subscribers, you want to bond yourself to them. Either by having a video on your squeeze page taking about yourself, or within the first few emails. Doing this will make sure your subscribers are more familiar with you. People don’t buy from those they don’t feel they know or trust.

You should segment your subscribers. So that when someone buys, you move them from your main list onto a buyers list. Buyers need to be treated differently to subscribers. They have proven they are prepared to spend money with you. They deserve to be given special treatment by you. Like special deals and the like, which you don’t offer to your subscriber list.

Also, you can segment by interest. One person might have picked up a freebie from you in a more general area, but shown an interest in a more specific topic within that general niche. Therefore you can target the subscriber more effectively.

It usually takes about 2 weeks (give or take) to see the increase in your Alexa ranking.

Conversion success is vital to your internet business success.

Here are 7 conversion secrets you should be using in your own business today.

1. Place a phone number on your sales page.

It sounds counter intuitive I know.

Why would you bother using a phone number as an order option when they are ordering online?

But a certain percentage of people just prefer to order by phone.

So make sure you incorporate a number in the order process if they want to use it.

2. Use video in your sales material.

This will let potential customers hear your voice and connect with you in a more profound way before they commit to buy.

3. Use pop ups in your sales pages.

This is exceptionally effective, and will grab you some of the visitors who were leaving your sales page, and give you a second chance to sell to them.

Either by giving them a small discount on the product or an extra bonus to persuade the undecided to buy.

If they still say no, give them a valuable free bonus to at least retain them as an email subscriber.
Lets not forget, they are not a buyer, but they are still more valuable than a “freebie seeker”.

5. Use a series of emails with a special price attached. Invented by Frank Kern, which he called the ” Day Cash Machine”.

Simple but very effective.

It’s actually unavailable now, but here’s what it is in a nutshell.

You send 4 identical emails (except change the first line or two) one after the other.

The first one says something along the lines of 50% off your product, plus 2 or 3 bonuses which usually do not come with the product.

The second one says only two days to go, get in nowbefore its too late.

The third one says, only 2 days to go, get in before you miss out.

The last one says, final day, act now before you miss out.

When I first heard about this and saw the emails that went with it I was incredulous.

How the heck can this work? Its so simple and seems pretty spammy. But the amazing thing is, it does work.

Try it and you’ll discover this.

One diabolical twist you can use with this method. Send the entire 4 days again immediately after the first, but this time make it a $1 trial instead of the buyer having to pay the full 50% cost.

They still get it for 50% off, but they only pay $1 initially to get it.

It works, try it.

6. Charge two payments of your product price instead of one.

So, say you charge $47 for your product, change that to 2 payments of $47.

To my and your surprise you will find your profit will be 40%-60% more than if you’d just charge the one payment of $47.

Yes, some who would have bought at one payment of $47 will reject it, but its nowhere 50% that you might expect, therefore making it highly profitable.

7. Last, but not least, is you should have several upsells and downsells.

If you have just the one product and nothing to offer after a person buys you are missing out on a ton of profit.

So always include upsells and downsells in your sales funnel.

When people first come online looking to make an income or just some extra money they all have different goals and different expectations.

Some want to make a few hundred dollars a month to supplement their lifestyle, pay their mortgage, or have a nice vacation every now and then.

Then there are the big hitters, those who are seeking to make millions on the internet in a very short space of time.

And then there is everyone in between.

Like those who want to replace their job income entirely so they don’t have to work for some jerk boss anymore.

They all have different reasons for seeking make money online products and information.

You need to decide which segment you are going after to you can market to them effectively.

Also, you should decide what you yourself are looking for in terms of income.

Do you want to replace your income, or just make a few hundred a month?

Say an action link, like a buy button or a link to your squeeze page?

Think your conversions would suffer because of that?!

Well here is what you do.

You sign up for a site like pingdom where they notify you when you have a broken link on your site (which can easily happen if you or someone you’re outsourcing to do work on your site, makes an error.), or if you site has the dreaded “downtime”.

Downtime is when your site is actually down, and so when a visitor comes to your site, it doesn’t load and they go away never to return.

Can you see how important it is to make sure you have no broken links and to know how much downtime your site is experiencing?

All sites have some downtime, even if its a few minutes a month, but if your site is going down for several hours a month, that’s when you’re losing money.

So, I strongly suggest a service like pingdom.

It’s where people offer to go practically anything for $5 (a fiverr).

Many of what people offer to do for $5 is kinda silly.

For example, I’m just browsing their listings and here are a few samples:

“I will record a video of my ventriloquist dummy saying anything you like for $5″

Well alrighty then!

“I will get Daniel Franzese who played Damien in Mean Girls to hold a bday sign for anyone for $5″

Who?

“I will write your name in lipstick on my mirror and take a kiss picture for $5″

Hold on, dear reader, I’m just going to make a note of this ad….;)

Seriously though, some pretty zany offers huh?

Well, if you can wade through all those weird and wonderful ones, you will find some real gems.

Offers that will help you with your own internet business.

Here’s a few just off the first page, where I found the zany ones.

“I will promote your business or website to over 16000 people for $5″

Apparently he has a Youtube channel and lots of friends and subscribers.

Worth a try to gain some subscribers?

Only $5 to play.

If it doesn’t work, you’re out $5. Big deal.

“I will shout out your website on a popular fm radio show in a top 20 media market with 2 million listener… for $5″

The ad speaks for itself.

“I will give you 70 guaranteed facebook likes on your page,photo,vote for $5″

If you’re into social media, this one could well be valuable.

That was just a few on the first page that caught my eye as useful to an internet business owner.

The beauty of Fiverr is that you can also offer people $5 to do a designated task for you for $5.

Here are some ideas of how you can use Fiverr in your business.

If you have a Facebook “fanpage”, you can pay someone to join it as a fan and have them contact all their facebook friends to join it too.

You could end up with hundreds of fans for just $5.

If you’re wondering how this could help you, the more fans you have when advertising your facebook fan page, the better.

Or, you can get someone to bookmark your site in dozens of bookmark sites for $5.

Or have someone create a logo for your business for $5.

Or have someone do an ebook cover for $5.

There really is no end to the possibilities.

I suggest you visit Fiverr often to find cheap workers for your internet business.

Ever see a wildlife show, where lions are lurking nearby where antelope are grazing?

They hide in the low grass, until one gets separated from the herd.

Then the lion crawls through the grass slowly until its closer to the feeding animal.

When it feels its close enough, muscles bunched like slabs of iron, it launches itself forward, legs pumping with supreme power, surging at the hapless antelope.

It takes off, eyes wide with fright and the smell of its impending death.

It manages to keep out of reach of the lions fierce claws for a few seconds, until the lion chases it down and brings it down in a furry of tangled limbs, shapened claws buried deep in the antelope’s back.

It struggles vainly for a few moments until it feels teeth tearing into its living flesh, then….

Well, we all can guess what happens next right?

I don’t think I need describe in graphic detail what happens to the poor antelope.

So what has this got to do with internet marketing you are wondering?

Everything.

Like in the jungles of Africa, the internet and indeed life is very much the same.

We get complacent in our concrete and glass towers where we live feeling safe and protected.

The fact of life is there are predators and competitors aplenty, all wanting to bring you down.

Top Ten Websites, Most Of The Traffic?

I recently heard that by 2012, the top ten websites in the world will have over 80% of the total traffic.

I found that amazing.

I have a good idea what over half of the websites will likely be.

Ebay. Amazon. google. facebook. myspace. youtube.

What that means though that all the other websites on the internet combined will be fighting for less than 20% of the rest of the traffic!

That’s you and that’s me.

So as internet business owners, we really need to be at the top of our game to make the most of the rest of that traffic.

Don’t get me wrong, 20% of the total traffic is still s lot.

But it’s a much smaller piece of the pie than we might have otherwise, if those few mega sites weren’t sucking in so much traffic.

I must have unusual browsing habits, because I visit other sites much more than those six I listed earlier.

Those six might make up 5% of my total browsing time over the course of a month.

As internet marketers we obviously don’t browse like the majority do.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to just stick to a few sites.

So, like I was saying, with so many websites competing for less than 20% of the available website traffic, anyone who wants success must do more and provide more to potential customers than the average.

So, get determined, get hard and learn and do what you need to so that you will make your business a success.
